HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY LOVE!!!
I’m sorry to those who were offended by my previous entry in regards to rape and sexual assault. I wrote it b/c I read something from a source last year that some of those crimes happen in part b/c of the ways girls dress. I don’t remember the exact justification or the study they did [since I read it awhile ago], but I shouldn’t have written something that I couldn’t back up. In no way, was I implying that it’s the only reason. For those of you who have been an innocent victim to such horrendous acts, I AM INCREDIBLY SORRY for my negligence!!! No words describe how foolish I feel. I was trying to make a point, but it came across in a way that I didn’t mean to be interpreted. My deepest apologies . . .
Even though I see a lot of division in politics, it makes me really happy to see that more people [in my life] are being active in elections. But please, don’t bash others for not agreeing with you - God made us all different. I’m so embarrassed to say that I have never voted yet. I never had time to educate myself on the different candidates|issues. Next presidential election, I’m so there!

I came across a great article: http://www.christianitytoday.com/tcw/2003/003/3.46.html
Please read [especially ladies]!
A lot of times, I hear ladies say how disgusting it is that guys gawk at girls. I’m going to be bold and say that us women are largely responsible, not just the men that do it. Of course it’s hard since this society [via magazines, television, movies, etc.] tells us to wear revealing clothes to be beautiful. I’ll admit that I love reading magazines, and I get sucked into ‘what can make me more cool or what not’. I can’t believe the kind of clothes that people wear these days – especially when I see younger girls wearing them. Some parts of the body that are revealed should only be seen by a husband. If anyone on the street can see lots of skin or intimate parts of the body, what’s saved for the husband to enjoy?
Some key highlights of the article:
“But the problem with immodesty isn’t just about causing our Christian [*or non-Christian] brothers to stumble; it’s also about our craving for the emotional rush we receive when we know we’re being noticed.” *my addition
“The apostle Peter advises us on how we should adorn the temple: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment … Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight” (1 Peter 3:3, 4). Peter’s not dissing the fashions of the day, he’s calling women to a higher presentation of modesty, that of an inner confidence to say “no” to the culture.”
Now I’m not saying that guys are off the hook – you gentlemen are responsible for controlling those hormones. ; ) But ladies, let’s do our best to help keep the brothas from stumbling.
