So much for holiday spirit . . . I was watching the news and these are just a few things that happened.
1. When someone parked in a certain parking spot, another driver got out of their car and approached that car by yelling and swearing at them because it was supposed to be their spot.
2. Wal-Marts all across the country had some troubles because of their extremely big sales. There were mobs and mobs of people [especially in the electronics section] that were fighting, arguing, pushing, etc. People literally fell flat on their face trying to get in the door when it opened.
3. A woman bought an Xbox 360 for her son’s only wish for his Christmas present. When she got home, a man pointed a gun at her and she had to give it up.
Sad.
God, help us remember why we celebrate this season. Give us more patience in these busy and chaotic times.

Utter madness indeed. :T
that’s so sad… yea it was kinda chaotic at work today.. not AS bad as i expected, but pretty busy. busy enuf that the 9 hr shift didn’t seem that long.. alot of ppl were tired and some of em took it out on us.. boo..
amen!
it is very sad!
Oh my goodness! I’ve witnessed #1 at U-Village. In fact, the man intentionaly hit the other car to get a parking spot. #3 is just too sad.
You know, this is the first time that I stood in line the night before for anything and I did it twice. The first was at Costco for the XBOX 360 [and I got one by the way] and that was totally well organized with a list of names in the order that people showed up. There was order and it went very smoothly.
Then there was yesterday at Best Buy. Things were okay until the moment the doors were opening… after having stayed out there overnight, I was ready for what transpired. Mostly adults with graying hair, surged towards the front of the line from the rear, cutting off the rest of the line to my right… and it was chaos, one guard trying to maintain control. I felt so bad for him… but these were “grown” adults in their middle ages pushing and cutting through the lines…
If that’s the example we [as adults] are setting for our kids, that we can do anything|everything to get what we “want” while disregarding|disrespecting others, I have a bleek outlook in America’s future.
I saw this kind of behavior before… it was on the news, when relief workers were delivering food to a starving people in Africa… except they were starving and they “needed” food… We are a nation of spoiled|ungrateful gluttons.
BUT, yes, there’s a BUT! God is our only hope and source for salvation… and in that, God is good!
makes me sad to hear about these kinds of happenings… especially when it’s over material goods!
amen to that grace…hope you’re doing well…
amen to that~ lord i pray for peace…and Thankfulness!
amen to that Grace – the “shopping madness” was all over the news. thanks again for opening up your new home for us!
…and while all those crazies were shopping, our family enjoyed a perfect day of skiing at Mt. Bachelor. No lift lines at all ! ~KOOP
Lord I pray that you make bountiful the XBox 360. . . so that no needy child/man will go wanting. . . of course, I’m joking and oh so horrible. . . Halo 3 ain’t even out yet.
