I am boiling and my heart is pumping really fast.
On Oprah, there were parents who hired a stripper for their son’s 16th birthday party. Not only did the stripper go topless, she went totally buck nude. And the mother didn’t even regret hiring the stripper. Her argument was that she wasn’t showing them anything that they didn’t already see.
There is a fine line between trying to be friends with your child and being a good parent to your child. I definitely want to be friends with my children, but I am not going to compromise things just to be cool to them.
Not only is it wrong for a bunch of young boys [or girls] watching a stripper, I think hiring a stripper or going to a strip club or watching porn is completely unacceptable for all ages. There are going to be people who disagree with me which is really sad – our world and society is so distorted. I know people think it is harmless if it is for a bachelor|bachelorette party and it’s just for fun. The fact of the matter is that watching a stripper or porn is looking at someone in a sexual way and getting turned on with no intimacy nor respect.
I know there is a HUGE problem right now with porn, more than a lot of people know or want to admit. If anybody is struggling with this, please get help. Don’t let the devil win over our minds and souls.
Bottom line – watching strippers or looking at porn is cheating on your significant other and it is not good for anyone’s soul – no ifs and or buts.

there was an article in newsweek about how parenting has gone downhill because parents are trying too hard to be ‘friends’ with their kids instead of parents. sigh. i agree, i have no idea how society has become so distorted. even christian society.

AMEN, sister. you know what comes to mind when i read this? PSALM 1. you are an amazing sister in Christ, grace.
Amen, sister. Preach it! God knows we all need it. The godly rebuke done out of love. And yeah… I don’t really watch Oprah… it’s a little… eh… actually I don’t really like television… =/ My children and I will never have a television in the house. I think life is so much better that way.

Speak it Sista!!!!!!! You got my blood a pumping! It is a real sin, and is a true stumbling block – even for the strong ones. Cheating….yes….
that mother is sick. there is a fine line between friendship with your child, and being a parent, and that …i don’t know what that is. and why is it so necessary to be a “cool” mom….is she that insecure with herself, that she must find her popularity amongst 16 year-olds? very sad……
preach it, grace! i’m glad and so thankful that we have bold people of Truth and faith like you in our xanga world!
thats a good word~>
about it. And for the one who is about to get married, it is especially bad. I have shed some tears on that very topic. Makes me only want to watch rated G movies from now on. ~KOOP
