Month: March 2007

  • I haven’t done an individual session in awhile because we’ve been keeping busy with everything else, and Leslie came along since she needed photos for her upcoming music album. I had a lot of fun getting to know her. She grew up in Tennessee so she gave me a good recommendation for a restaurant . . . can’t wait for the yummy ribs next month – what Memphis is known for, she tells me.

[below] In the middle of our session, a random stranger came by and embraced her like he knew her.

  • I don’t know where, but Felise found us on a banner! Good eye Felise!

It’s so cool to be a part of this, as successful relationships are one of my biggest passions in life.  Jason told us that our blogs directed 3,000+ hits to the site in one day – I couldn’t believe it!

  • Hyun Ji and Mike are so adorable together! Mike is outgoing and funny and Hyun Ji is so sweet and more on the timid side. How cute are they to take a phone pic together on their wedding day!

[below] Our dear friend from Melrose Florist arranged all the elegant floral designs.

[below] Timing was a little tricky with escalators so it took me two times to get this shot but the guys had a lot of fun going up and down.

[below] It takes a village to get the bride ready. ;)

[below] They included a huge ice sculpture to enhance their reception.

[below] Sitting on the chair is Mike’s sister. Getting ready to put the garter up her leg is a friend. Getting ready to knock him out is Mike.

[above] No one got hurt because Mike is too nice.

[below] Right before we were about to leave, Hun snapped one of the grandparents sitting oh-so-pleasantly. That made my heart melt.

Hyun Ji and Mike went on their honeymoon to Maldives. It’s a breathtaking place, but its existence is threatened because the ocean continues to rise on the flattest country in the world. Interesting fact.

  • Audrey crossed off her checklist of places that she wanted to live in – Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Paris, and Miami – what an accomplishment! Audrey and Alex met in New York, but Miami is her favorite by far, where they both currently reside. So they flew us out for their engagement session, which we are delighted that they did since we probably wouldn’t go there on our own accord. Alex is originally from Turkey so Hun was able to relate since he went on a photography assignment in Turkey about five years ago. It was a gorgeous early morning in Sunny Isles Beach before all the beach bunnies came out. Also, the building they live in is famous for being in CSI Miami. Beautiful weather, beautiful locale, beautiful couple . . . life is good.

  • We Love Our Clients

We just received a save-the-date from our clients that included a personal note for us.

‘ . . . know that you are more than just another vendor – you’re our guests!’

This is another example of how awesome our clients are! We are truly blessed to have all around fabulous clients that treat us as their own friends.

  • GH Kim Tour

So far this year we’ve already gone to Northern California and New York [and Whistler for fun], and we’re about to go on our biggest traveling stretch starting today . . .

July, August, September = Bay area > New Jersey > Vegas

  • Richard wrote a very touching letter to Rosemary which she read while her bridesmaids were lacing up her dress.

[below] As part of the ceremony, both sets of parents came up and prayed for the union of their children. It was such a touching moment as well as emotional.

[below] My little munchkin of the day!

[below] Hun and I usually do a good job of getting out of each other’s shots, but this particular time, I strategically put myself in his shot where I knew I could be ninja-like [and also be able to Photoshop myself out].

[below] During their getaway, Richard’s dad revved up and chased them with his Lotus sports car which made for a hilarious end to a great celebration.

  • The Proposal

[below] Matt wanted to make sure Sylvia had no clue about his intentions that day so he e-mailed her as if he was at work. In actuality, he was at our home preparing for a big night.

[below] While Hun was serving them dinner, I arranged a pathway for them to walk out to.

[below] After lots of tears, Sylvia was able to gain composure and admired her rock. Meanwhile Matt admired his new fiancĂ©e.

[below] Later when guests arrived, Matt gave the details and made a toast.

[below] A great birthday for Sylvia!

  • My ‘WPJA’ Moment

In light of the award show season, I was inspired to have my own speech. ;)

Wow! Definitely thrilled that Hun and I both placed again! In this saturated world of wedding photography, there are tons of majorly talented artists out there. We don’t take this honor lightly. Thank you to my husband – life partner, business partner, and partner in crime. He is the one who put the camera in my hands and the reason I am a photographer today. I am thankful for an excellent association like WPJA and the members all over the world for giving me another reason to constantly challenge myself to be a better photographer. I can’t forget my friends and people I have never met who encourage me unceasingly which spurs me to keep going. To my parents who have loved me, raised me and nurtured me to be the person I am today, thank you and I love you. And God, all this is for You!
