I think this is the WORST year of American Idol. Not so much in terms of talent…but something about it is REALLY boring.  I think it’s how they focus so much on the lack of talent during the auditions, you don’t really get a chance to develop favorites.  Everyone right now seem ordinary with nice voices.  I hope this season gets better…and that we see more personality from the contestants.  I like Phil Stacey too.  If the past AIs are any indications, I think he will go far as well as Chris Sligh. Blake just needs to always pick good songs. Otherwise, he could end up like the Korean.  Good voice, but bad song selection.  And with the girls, most of them sound pretty good, but no one is really standing out. They performed well in week one, but they are all forgettable to me. My favorite with the girls is Leisle Hunt.  I liked her in the auditions.  But I don’t think she’s going to make it though.  She wasn’t that good last week.
