Photo Love
This is a post to educate the people out there; an informational for those who are not aware. When you use images, please credit the photographers. We see too many images that are not given credit where it’s due. I’ll put it this way… it would be like having a song on iTunes and not having the artist’s name attached to it or reading a book without an author’s name on it.
You might be thinking, what if it’s just a casual snapshot? Still, the photographer most likely took the time to bring out their heavy camera|lens, click the shutter, and edit the image.
Inspiration boards have been all the rage lately, and I happened to stumble upon a board [above] that had one of my images, cropped and creditless [Nancy's gown in the middle]. This is a very good example of what not to do.
On the other hand, Kathryn of Snippet & Ink, one of my absolute favorite blogs, creates gorgeous inspiration boards and credits all the images. Even though it’s geared towards wedding inspiration, I find that it can be inspiration for anything. Go check it out for yourself and give her some love!
Below are some of my favorite boards from Snippet & Ink…

oh nice…I didn’t know they were so popular. so people purchase these after the wedding? or they’re just for wedding ideas?
and yea…about the credit given, good examples. it’s not very nice, people usually never know where the images are from. I had a time when people would take mine and not claim it wasn’t theirs…thanks
my fav is #38, cool blog! i’ll keep checkin’ it out
sounds like you should have your own magazine
not giving you credit?….so not cool…want me to talk to them?
I rarely look at wedding sites/blogs anymore, but if I do and I recognize your photos I will tell them to give credit.
ohh, that is lovely…. yay, speak up for artistic license!
