  • wow there are a lot of amazing photos that i really like in this set!  one of my favs tho that really make me smile is the first photo…cute!

  • hahahaha..i like the one with the ring boy while everyone is praying for the groom.  mischievous.

  • As I told Hun, I never said that Christians [including Pastors or leaders of a church] shouldn’t have nice things.  I’m all for Christians to enjoy nice things.  If a pastor wants to drive an escalade with 30 inch chrome rims and a sound system that would make U2 blush then that’s awesome…If the pastor wants to have a Bobby Flay as a personal chef, even better…If the pastor only wants to wear the finest denim jeans, even more excellent.  Haha…but I just thing there’s a fine line between having nice things, and having nice things that are outrageous [ie. Having a helicopter that takes you from church to church so that you don't have to drive].  I would’ve even been ok with him having limo driver, but to me a helicopter is unreal.  I guess my issue here is that if the pastor requested [to be fair, i don't know if he did or didn't make a request], then the expense of a personal helicopter should come out his own pocket.  Just like other “nice” things like an escalade, a personal chef, or nice jeans.

Let me reiterate again, I’m not against Christians having nice things.  I like nice things, I have nice things.  I will acquire more nice things [I hope].  If I was a pastor at a mega church, I would have nice things.  Nice things are good.  I really believe God wants us to have nice things.  I really believe God wants us to be successful financially too :)

As far as the sports team analogy…Honestly, I would think it’s a ridiculous, not cool, if the coach of any sports team had his personal helicopter to take him from his house to the stadium.  Again, I am the paying consumer here.  If I was a loyal season ticket holder to say the Mariners, the last thing I want to see is Don Wakamatsu being air lifted from his home to Safeco Field for every home game in his personal helicopter.  I’d rather we sign Ken Griffey Jr with the extra money we have [or other superstar players, instead of having the Yankees sign all of them] ;)  or better yet, making improvements to the stadium.

But to each his/her own.  Like I said, if the people of Christian Faith Center are ok with their tithes to be used for that, then different strokes for different folks.  I’m not trying to judge, but instead state an opinion and my interpretation of prosperity.
