  • Whoa.  Just in the past two days, I was made aware that four people have passed away.  I didn’t know three of them because they were a close friend or family of my friends, but one of them I did know.  When I received the call last night from my close friend telling me one of her good friends passed away in a car accident, I started crying uncontrollably.  I didn’t know her that well, but all the emotions of losing Paul flooded over me and I felt deep sorrow for the family that lost her.

All this to say ‘LIVE EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE!’  When I say ‘live’ I’m not talking about society’s definition of partying it up, I mean live meaningfully so that it counts.  We don’t know what the future holds.

    Praise God everyday
    Learn something new everyday
    Be thankful everyday
    Say something nice everyday
    Give something everyday
    Improve yourself everyday
    Love everyday
    Smile everyday
    Laugh everyday
    Seize everyday
    . . .

My prayers go out to the families of those who mourn the death of their loved one.

Even though I put comics up for fun, I think we have a serious issue on our hands.  I’ve heard so many people say that they don’t ’feel’ the Christmas spirit this year.  I attribute the withering Christmas spirit to the society’s commercialism where retailers start displaying and selling Christmas items WAY before it’s necessary - this in turn makes the value and specialness of Christmas go down.  Every year, it seems like they roll things out a little bit earlier than the previous year.  Every time I see Christmas stuff out before we even celebrate Thanksgiving, I get irked.  One holiday at a time people!

Also, I’m all about ‘political correctness’ but the pursuit of it is getting a little out of hand when we offend people by saying ‘Merry Christmas’.  I have to admit that I’ve said ’Happy Holidays’ in fear of offending somebody in the past, but I’ve decided that I’m just giving into society then.  There’s nothing wrong with ‘Happy Holidays’ except for when it’s said in fear of man.  So this year, I’ve said ‘Merry Christmas’ to people with a big smile, and so far everyone has said it back with a smile.

Please spread Christmas cheer in any way you can – patience, giving, loving, smiling, etc.

It’s all about Jesus and what He did for all of us . . . the essence of peace, love and hope!

Merry Christmas everyone!  May the TRUE joy of the season surround you!

  • Love this quote!

“Marriage is not a ritual or an end.
It is a long, intricate, intimate dance together and nothing matters more than your own sense of balance and your choice of partner.”

  • Star-struck

This past Saturday . . . I got to shake hands with my favorite player!

Paul, Glo and I met Dan Wilson!  We stood in line for a little over an hour at UVillage in the freezing cold and rain, but it was well worth it!  He was signing autographs in exchange for donations to his favorite charity – All God’s Children adoption agency.  Glo and I were starstruck as we just smiled at him instead of saying something meaningful.  Haha!  Glo’s camera was almost out of batteries, but we were able to get a picture with him.

How could I leave out my hubby?  He didn’t stand in line with us because he’s a Yankees fan, but he supported me by waking up early to get me there, found a Sharpie for the signing pen, delivered a nice hot beverage to keep me warm, and waited patiently at Starbucks.  He’s the best!  :)

I will never wash my shirt again.  :)

This was a bat that my brother received while he was in the hospital.  His favorite player wasn’t Dan, but he loved the Mariners, so his co-worker got it signed from Dan and brought it for him.

If I wasn’t so starstruck, I would have said, ‘Thanks for the awesome years Dan.  You are a great man on and off the field.’  Cheesy, but true.
