Star-struck
This past Saturday . . . I got to shake hands with my favorite player!
Paul, Glo and I met Dan Wilson! We stood in line for a little over an hour at UVillage in the freezing cold and rain, but it was well worth it! He was signing autographs in exchange for donations to his favorite charity – All God’s Children adoption agency. Glo and I were starstruck as we just smiled at him instead of saying something meaningful. Haha! Glo’s camera was almost out of batteries, but we were able to get a picture with him.
How could I leave out my hubby? He didn’t stand in line with us because he’s a Yankees fan, but he supported me by waking up early to get me there, found a Sharpie for the signing pen, delivered a nice hot beverage to keep me warm, and waited patiently at Starbucks. He’s the best!

I will never wash my shirt again.

This was a bat that my brother received while he was in the hospital. His favorite player wasn’t Dan, but he loved the Mariners, so his co-worker got it signed from Dan and brought it for him.

If I wasn’t so starstruck, I would have said, ‘Thanks for the awesome years Dan. You are a great man on and off the field.’ Cheesy, but true.

WOW!!! where was samchun? hehhee =)
Ana – Samchoon had to get up REEEALLY early in the morning to escort the die-hard-Wilson-fan-first-wife-second to UVillage, and he even delivered a extra hot chai latte and a permanent pen while she was in line. :] I didn’t stand in line though, so that’s why I didn’t get no kudos on this entry. :T
i’ll never forget the fact that you got to meet your fav baseball player and you guys didn’t say anything to him.. haha!! good times.. =)
for the record everyone, i asked mr. wilson if he would ever consider coming out of retirement and with a frown on his face, this is what he said.. “probably not.” bummer..
very nice.

That’s cool! I remeber when I was in the 6th grade…I waited in line for 8 hours at a mall t to meet Zach (Mark Paul Gossler) and Kelly (Tiffany Thessen) from Saved by the Bell. The autograph was worth it! But too bad I lost it! =T
