  • Let’s Talk Politics

Ever since I was little, I never understood why when it came time for elections, there were so many commercials of running politicians bashing on other candidates. To this day, I don’t understand – it seems elementary. I would not vote for anyone who focuses on putting someone else down so publicly, rather someone who focuses on what they will look forward to accomplishing during their term.

  • If you haven’t picked up a copy of ’Sound The Alarm’ [debut album of King's Fools], hurry and get one! They’re selling like hotcakes! Holidays are coming up and they’d make great gifts also. You can buy them online.

Without tarnishing their street creds . . . not only are these men amazing musicians, they are full of integrity, truth, passion, and love! Each one brings something unique to the band with his personality and musical talent. Check them out!

We clicked instantly with Ambra & Andre as we have a lot in common. Ambra was doing her research on our company and stumbled across my blog so she had known a little about me already before having the client meeting. And when Hun did meet with them, most of the time was spent talking about everything but the business aspect. Ambra made such a gorgeous and elegant bride! Some unique elements from their wedding: Ambra designed the beautiful programs. During the ceremony, both sets of parents spoke blessings over them which was touching. Before the recessional, they had a blowing of the shofar which is an ancient musical horn used for different occasions. And my favorite, they had their first kiss at the altar – you could see the range of emotions that they went through because it was so momentous. Andre doesn’t want to admit it, but I saw some tear drops out of him. It was also special to me because that’s what Hun and I did as well.

  • We just got back from our first Client Appreciation Brunch at Salty’s on Alki and it was such a wonderful time! We got great feedback so we are planning to do this annually.

We hosted the event for our past wedding clients and also some key people who helped us to be where we are today, to show them appreciation for their faith in our work. In my toast today, I said that our business has been incredibly blessed, and it’s so true. It’s been incredibly blessed with supportive family and friends and wonderful clients who value us – it’s all God. I also said something along the lines that marriage is a lot of hard work so I commend every couple for making it this far. I have prayed for each couple that their marriage and love will continue to flourish.

I wanted to document some of the event, but I was so busy chatting it up with everyone, it didn’t happen. It probably was for the better anyways so that they don’t feel like they’re at another wedding with us photographing their every move. ;)

Regardless to say, we had great food, a great view on a beautiful day, and great company!

Almost everyone I talked to said that they felt like they were meeting celebrities because they’ve seen each other on Hun and my blogs. That’s so funny because friends have come up to us in the past and told us they saw so and so but they couldn’t say hi because they didn’t really know them personally – just through our blogs. It’s such a small world, but the world wide web connects us even more.

We truly love our clients whom we consider our friends, as they have become a part of our lives in such a special way. Each of their faces and wedding stories will be engrained in my memory forever.

    I want to give special shout-outs to . . .

Deborah, our Studio Assistant who has relieved so much from us which makes our life much more pleasant. Thank you for all your hard work! You are a God-send!

Jane, our Associate Photographer whose last day with our company is today. It’s bittersweet – we’re so proud of her because she’s starting her own business, but we’re so sad because in a way, we’re losing a part of our family. When the three of us first talked about it, Jane and I both teared up, and I’m tearing up as I write this. God bless you and your new business Jane!

Hun, my life partner, business partner, and partner in crime – it’s been a whirlwind but I’m glad we’re in it together! Thank you for loving me.

Since a lot of soon-to-be brides read this blog, I decided to start a wedding fashion corner. I love everything to do with weddings, and I research on a constant basis because I live and breathe weddings from photographing to coordinating them. Plus I have a passion for fashion! My own wedding dress was a disaster as the tailor did not make the dress as I envisioned it, so in a way, I’m reliving the thought of having the perfect dress through this as well. Put it all together and there you have it – ‘style and grace’. :)

This past year, we saw a lot of brides adding a splash of color to their gowns by adding a sash [dress below by Monique Lhuillier]. I’ve personally seen champagne, pink, pale pink, hot pink, mauve, brown, and sage.

In the upcoming year, the timeless look of Grace Kelly will be more prevalent -  lots of lace!

Below is an elegant empire-waist Oscar de la Renta with a beautiful cathedral-length veil.

Below are two gorgeous dresses by Jenny Lee.

This one by Melissa Sweet. From the millions of advertisements out there, this one has been pointed out to me countless times from friends – the dress and the hair is simply romantic and beautiful.

Also, Carley [editor in chief from The Knot] says embellishments are back in.

My favorite embellished dress below from Vera Wang.

If you want to go wild, you can have embellishments with a sash! Dress below by Monique Lhuillier.

Below are some bridesmaid dresses that I love [Vera Wang].

One for the evening or a fall|winter wedding:

One for the spring|summer or daytime wedding. The pockets are so in right now which is great for ladies so they can keep their lipstick or tissue nearby.

Thanks for reading my first edition. Stay tuned for the next one in January!

  • Jessie and Henry celebrated their union fusing two cultures together. Some unique elements . . . Jessie’s eight bridesmaids were overjoyed when they opened their Tiffany boxes to find beautiful heart necklaces that she gifted them with. One of the wedding party members was their adorable laid-back dog who walked down the aisle as well. They hired a great lively band that couldn’t keep guests off the dance floor. The dance floor was packed and everyone definitely danced the night away.

  • L and P chose to celebrate with just family and a few close friends in a very intimate setting at The Inn at Langley, a location which has countless awards and accolades from Condé Nast Traveler and such. P is one of the most personable grooms I have ever met, also one of the goofiest which will make for a fun marriage.  He also calls everyone dawlings [darlings] just like Hun. L chose Vera Wang shoes that were classy, sophisticated and simple to compliment her dress. I couldn’t help but think that L’s grandfather looked very similar to Saul in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ and ‘Ocean’s Twelve’.

  • It was one of the hottest days in Seattle area it seemed, but Amy and Du were troopers. Luckily, the wedding was early and finished before it got too unbearable. Some moments that stick out in my mind . . . they were smart in wrapping the garter around a stuffed teddy bear. There are so many times that the garter doesn’t make it to the flailing arms but straight to the ground. That bear got some air! Also, Amy was crying so much during the father-daughter dance that right after, Amy’s dad declared ‘She loves too much!’ I think he was trying to say, ‘She loves me too much!’ It was so cute and endearing.
