  • As I wrote in my recent post on Grace Picks, it’s all about the bold and the beautiful… color!

If you’re looking to have a vibrant wedding, you can add some pop by choosing a striking color. Search for your color at Snippet & Ink and see what delightful eye candy comes up. I know it’s the second time this week I’ve gushed about this blog, but that’s how much I love it!

  • Photo Love

This is a post to educate the people out there; an informational for those who are not aware. When you use images, please credit the photographers. We see too many images that are not given credit where it’s due. I’ll put it this way… it would be like having a song on iTunes and not having the artist’s name attached to it or reading a book without an author’s name on it.

You might be thinking, what if it’s just a casual snapshot? Still, the photographer most likely took the time to bring out their heavy camera|lens, click the shutter, and edit the image.

Inspiration boards have been all the rage lately, and I happened to stumble upon a board [above] that had one of my images, cropped and creditless [Nancy's gown in the middle]. This is a very good example of what not to do.

On the other hand, Kathryn of Snippet & Ink, one of my absolute favorite blogs, creates gorgeous inspiration boards and credits all the images. Even though it’s geared towards wedding inspiration, I find that it can be inspiration for anything. Go check it out for yourself and give her some love!

Below are some of my favorite boards from Snippet & Ink

    Board #144: Paris, je t’aime

    Board #128: Gray and Yellow

    Board #38: Cool White

Board #29: City Hall Champagne Chic

  • So Hot Right Now

Jinny and Koo are talented and lovable musicians based in the east coast who have been entertaining people everywhere with their individual and collective sound. On a tour about one and a half years ago, their van full of equipment went up in flames. Thank God everyone was okay. Even with the devastation, they still held their heads up and kept going. They even made shirts that read ‘so hot right now’.

“for no reason whatsoever, other than the fact that i love these guys, i made a 2 minute horribly edited commercial for these guys on iMovie, which started out as a small joke intended for Hun. anyway, these guys are great friends and awesome photographers..” Koo Chung

We had the honor of photographing their engagement session and we had some fun playing around.

  • What Happens in Vegas

    does not stay in Vegas…

Last week, I went to Vegas for the WPPI tradeshow to check out the latest and greatest in the wedding photography world. I literally zipped through the hundreds of booths in under an hour [during Tiffany's massage] as I was there for an undercover mission.

Tiffany and Tim = TNT = a dynamite couple got engaged!

We looked through almost ten different stores, but ended going back to the first store above. Can you guess which dress was the winner?

  • Uniform

Two Saturdays ago was Alison’s first wedding with us and we made sure to coordinate even our outerwear. Just kidding, we didn’t but it sure looked like we did.

We do usually wear all black because a) it blends in best with other guests b) black is chic and doesn’t go out of style c) to be ninja-like. Yes, we have a closet full of black clothing. We do have some fun here and there when our couples request us to wear something theme appropriate like Hawaiian wear.

    Favorites of the day…

  • Julie & Sang’s Wedding

Julie and Sang held their celebration in the new sleek Pan Pacific Hotel. You could tell that they were all about the details. Since Seattle didn’t carry them yet, their thoughtful friends from New York brought over the new Yves Saint Laurent scents ‘Elle’ and ‘L’Homme’ so they could wear them for the first time. And I must say that Julie looked absolutely dreamy in her Amsale gown.
